How do you change settings so that it shows your avatar?

I also want to know how you change your display name, I have already clicked my profile and searched there. Please help!How do you change settings so that it shows your avatar?

1st tabppearance? choose your skin color, face and eyes, and hairstyle.

2nd tabpparel? Find an outfit

3rd tab xtras? Look at the fashion accessories (sunglasses, hats,sporting goods, pets and etc..

4th tab ackground
