How do i change the way my answers are display on a TI-83 calculator?

I have a TI-83 Plus Silver Edition calculator.

say i typed something like:

2 - 1.9999

and the answer is .0001 but the answer shows up as: 1E-4

i understand what that means but i'd rather just have it show up as .0001. so how do i change settings to do that? How do i change the way my answers are display on a TI-83 calculator?
Unfortunately, the way that the TI-83/84/Plus/SE calculators handles numbers prevents you from changing that functionality. It seems to only activate on numbers with four or more zeroes in front or behind the non-zero digit. That's why doing 2鈭?.999 gives you .001 and not 1E-3 (unless you're in Scientific or Engineering mode). How do i change the way my answers are display on a TI-83 calculator?
