Go to start %26gt;%26gt; right click on my computer %26gt;%26gt; properties %26gt;%26gt; advanced %26gt;%26gt; performance %26gt;%26gt; then there should be an option down the list where it says something like making the background of the icons to transparent.HELP- Windows XP Home (Media Center). Click on your start, go to controll pannel, select display. From there you should be able to find what you're looking for. Hope I helped.
Right Click on your desktop. When the sub-menu appears, go to the arrange Icons by selection. When the sub-menu extends. go down to ';Lock Web Items on Desktop'; and remove the check mark.
